ReplyDeleteVery generous placement for:
ReplyDeleteTodd Gunzanhauser- didn't really do much during track/has no great XC showings.
Sam Webb- hurt for basically 2.5 seasons and then came on strong in the 3200. I get that he dropped time despite everything, but 3rd seems high.
Nick Dahl- Has had a phenominal track season for a freshman. I mean, maybe the best freshman distance season I've ever seen (1:58, 4:22, 9:19 2 mile). but to have him so high in XC when he's never broken 17, on one extremely easy course, is a red light and i wouldn't have him on the medal stand... until junior year. Then I have him placing.
Pretty surprised at Andrew Marston considering the season he had compared to the last and how hard he came on late season in XC.

What class/ grade is everyone?
ReplyDeletelast year state champ and niki 6th place regional 7th
ReplyDeleteI think you have Gebhardt ranked way too low. Call me crazy, but I think he's at least a top 10 guy right now, and by the end of the year, I think he'll be a top three guy in the state. He's got a great work ethic, and as long as he can stay healthy, I don't see any reason he can't contend for a state title.

I run in the independent league and know Sam Ritz and Ben Szuhaj well. Ritz should be higher than Dahl on that list (Ritz under 16 at Belmont, Dahl not under 17.), and Szuhaj is a distance guy who was hurt all year but now has things together. With Hoey and McDevitt also in their league expect big things from all of them.
ReplyDeleteCurious why Zach Seiger from Red Land is ranked at 33 which seems low? He finished 6th in District 3 (AAA) XC and 28th at XC States with something like 14 graduating seniors ahead of him. He was injured and rehabbing through the indoor season but still had a solid outdoor track season finishing 6th in the 3200 at District 3 Championships with a PR of 9:31 and 16th at States with another PR of 9:30 all as a sophomore.
