Oscars: It's (Almost) Showtime

UPDATE PART II: It's official, the Oscars award presentation will be Thursday, July 21st at 8:30 PM live here on the blog! Tune in and watch the video presentation, see the guest stars and enjoy our best attempts at entertainment throughout the process! Hopefully you guys are excited and will join in the fun by tuning in and clicking the YouTube link that will be on the site prior to showtime.

Spread the word to everybody and get excited about the big show!

In the meantime check out the featured post by Garrett Zatlin! He's done some great work breaking down many of PA's college choices! And be sure to keep with Garrett throughout the season in the NCAA section. He does a great job and, although his name is similar, is not the same person as Jarrett. So you can bet he's probably cooler.

Original UPDATE: Instead of closing the voting window on July 31st, we will now be closing the voting window on July 15th. So if you want to vote in this year's Oscars, you've still got time, but you have to go quickly!

ADDITIONAL NOTE: While the Oscars will be hosted by our own etrain11, we will also have guest presenters for all the awards. The winners will also be notified ahead of time in case they would like to make an acceptance speech during the vent. It's gonna be a legit thing people. Maybe we will do some red carpet style interviews with some nominees as well. Probably no fashion analysis however, although you can see some of our skills in the "Best Costume Design" link below.

If you want to get involved as a presenter, interviewee, etc. get in touch with us through the usual means. Email is jarrettfelix1130@gmail.com, twitter is @TheRealTrain11, the blog comments are right at the bottom of this post.

Please try and spread the word to friends and others who you think might be interested. It's summer time which means there aren't as many viewers reading and finding out about the news. I will have an Oscar's show time to announce by the end of the weekend so be on the lookout for that announcement.

Also shameless plug for the Etrain 11 series. The O'Hara story is now up and I think it's a fun one. Hopefully we will have one or two more to share looking ahead ...

    1. Training is really rough in this weather, if you don't have your run in by 7:30 a.m. you're gonna sweat your tail off.

    5. How does a sophomore who was 15:40's and top 15 at states "break out"...

    6. Probably the same way top guys like Brophy, Russell, Wilson, James, Magaha etc. broke out to the absolute highest levels in the state and to national level quality performances in both XC and on the track their junior years after outstanding sophomore years.

    7. Don't overlook Liam Conway as a incoming junior, he broke out already.

    8. So do you predict wither Conway or Smucker can topple Hoey?

  6. With a strong class just graduated, I can see many of the upcoming juniors breaking through and being able to really find themselves running up front. The upcoming junior class has proved to be strong already, and with only one class ahead of them, I really think we will see a few more junior stars this season. In regards to the big 3 juniors, Hoey, Conway, and Smucker, I definitely see these guys having a race for the lead. Hoey knows what it's like already. For Conway and Smucker, whoever wants it more will get it. I'm excited to see how the scene rolls out.

    1. I know those are the 3 "biggies" in that upcoming junior class, but there are SO many good names in that 2018 class...

    2. It might be a few weeks early for Etrain's schedule to be talking XC but since it's out there already, well we might as well comment a little. I agree Hoey, Smucker and Conway are incoming juniors who will likely be at the top this year, but I would also include others like LaSalle's Evan Addison and Neshaminy's Rusty Kujdych as having just as good a chance of being at the top too. Looking forward to Etrain's pre season top 50, that first one is probably the toughest to put together of the whole XC season.

    3. Hoey is only going to get better. He's the dude to beat this XC and will no doubt top the preseason top 50 over all those other guys. DTW to repeat too, they're stacked again.
