The gang talks Penn Relays in the latest edition of TheRoundHouse

  1. I’m sorry but I remain shocked that DTW has passed on the DMR for individual events. Shocked. Did I mention I’m shocked? There’s so many opportunities for individual glory with top invites, districts, states, nationals etc. but there’s only one Penn Relays. That Hunter guy could take gold in any individual distance event this year, he’s going for the team win. In recent years WCH and Russell understood it. OH and James got it. LaSalle and Coyle. No clue what their coach is thinking and absent of hearing the reasoning out of DTW we’re left to just speculate why. But it’s a shame because they had a lot of potential and a better chance at gold in the DMR than any individual event. Maybe Mclemore does something in the 400 hurdles but a solid DMR might have been more rewarding. Even if they kill it in the individual events my opinion is those performances would have been better served in the Penn Relays DMR. But, just my opinion, which is why I’m posting on Etrain and not coaching I guess. I do think Kolor might surprise with a big race in the mile though.

    1. I just assumed they'd stack the DMR at Penn Relays, it seems like if you have a good relay team, that's what you do there.

    2. To be fair, just last year the state champs in the DMR scratched it at Penn.

    3. True. But considering how things worked out they might have regretted it. Almost always better to go for the team event at Penn Relays if the team is good.
