Week Three Preview: Prediction Style

by etrain11

Rather than do a weekend preview, I decided to try and bring a little more enthusiasm to the prediction contests by moving some of it over here. Updated standings are on lxvplus and you can make predictions either here or there.

Prediction Contest
If you prefer a simpler approach to predictions, predict the Winners (Individual and Team) for each of the following invitationals ....
Briarwood
Slippery Rock
Altoona
Big Spring

For each correct answer, you get 5 points. In meets with different sections, the individual "winner" is the runner with the fastest time. The team "winner" is the team that wins the "Championship" section or the "AAA" section. If you have questions, feel free to ask.

  2. The 2 PA teams sweep the NJ and DE teams in the 1st Annual Oberod Invitational just south of Kennett Square in Greenville Delaware.

    Unionville upsets Henderson for championship.

    1. No team in the Chesmont league will beat Henderson besides DTW. DTW beats them because of the Hoeys.

  3. Have you looked at The George School invite. Germantown Friends, Holy Ghost Prep, Pennsbury, Council Rock North and WC East are going. Not sure why CRN is listed as going to the George School Invite and Briarwood, possibly a split squad? Varsity to briarwood, JV to George School? Thats a decent field.

    1. Honestly, this is embarrassing but for some reason I thought it was a girls only meet. Pretty wrong about that. It does look like a quality meet, I'm excited to see results later.

    2. It was a 3 team race (Germantown Friends, WCEast &HGP in that order). Germantown had 3 or 4 in the top 10 and East had a big pack of guys between 11-20.

  4. I believe I'm getting my predictions in before the start of any races but if not you can discount those.
    Brophy-200
    1 or Less sub 16-200
    3 or More sub 16-100
PA's fastest time is sub 15:30-100
I wish there was an above at Altoona. I'd imagine Kachman takes the win in 16:25.
Winning time at Big Spring Above 16:15-100

  6. Results from Oberod Invitational now posted to lxvplus.blogspot.com. Hall wins over Smucker, but Henderson showcases an impressive pack.

    1. What an event, and what a course. Live music playing with free food catered by some fancy restaurant in Greenville. This is how all meets should be.

The course on the other hand was very new and very difficult. Those that have run both thought it was touger than Hershey an then some.

This event will grow next year.
