--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
50. Graham Crawford, Senior, NC State (0/50)

49. Nick Tuck, Senior, Penn (Wasn’t Ranked)
- Tuck ran very well at the four-mile race known as the Main Line Invite. He was 12 seconds behind Patrick Tiernan and placed second overall. I mentioned how big of an impact Tuck could have in my Etrain Team Power Rankings post and this was a good first sign. Nice job there and look for him to be one of the surprises of this season.

48. Jordy Williamsz, Senior, Villanova (+1/49)

47. Wes Gallagher, Senior, Mississippi (+1/48)

46. Jake Leingang, Junior, Oregon (+1/47)
-Finished 5th at Bill Dellinger Invite with some strong pack running. First real test will come next week at Beantown.

45. Grant Fisher, Freshman, Stanford (+1/46)

44. Chartt Miller, Junior, Iona (0/44)

43. Sam Wharton, Junior, Stanford (0/43)

42. Matthew Schwartzer, Senior, Indiana (-1/41)

41. Mike O’Dowd, Senior, Iona (-1/40)

40. Kyle King, Senior, Virginia (-1/39)

39. Dan Lennon, Senior, Syracuse (-1/38)
-Solid 4th place effort at the spiked shoe invite. I’m not looking too much into this considering the field wasn’t completely stacked. Would’ve liked to see him closer to Bennie, but this is fine for an early season meet.

38. Colin Bennie, Sophomore, Syracuse (+4/42)
- Although some of the top guys didn’t run at the Spiked Shoe Invite, Bennie convincingly won the race and defeated second place by 9 seconds. It wasn’t a monumental win by any means, but the field behind him was pretty solid and the sophomore deserved some recognition.

37. Brian Barraza, Junior, Houston (0/37)

36. Brandon Doughty, Senior, Oklahoma (0/36)

35. George Parsons, Junior, NC State (0/35)

34. Jerrell Mock, Sophomore, Colorado St. (0/34)

33. Joel Hubbard, Junior, Syracuse (-3/30)
-Hubbard ran at the Spiked Shoe Invite and finished 6th. It wasn’t a bad performance by any means and it’s still early on in the season. However, I had Hubbard originally ranked 30th (which in retrospect was pretty generous) and that’s usually not a performance the 30th best runner in the NCAA has. I still like Hubbard, but I just want to see something slightly more productive.

32. Amos Bowen, Senior, Wyoming (+1/33)

31. MJ Erb, Junior, Mississippi (+1/32)

30. Jefferson Abbey, Junior, Colorado St. (+1/31)

29. Joe Hardy, Sophomore, Wisconsin (0/29)
-Easy run with pack of teammates at Iona. Seemed to be a workout. Will probably see a true race in about a week or so.

28. Fabian Clarkson, Senior, Oklahoma St. (0/28)

27. Craig Nowak, Junior, Oklahoma St. (0/27)

26. Kevin Dooney, Senior, Yale (0/26)

25. Caleb Rhynard, Senior, Michigan St. (0/25)

24. Morgan Pearson, Senior, Colorado (0/24)

23. Chris Walden, Senior, California (0/23)

22. Marc Scott, Senior, Tulsa (0/22)

21. Justyn Knight, Sophomore, Syracuse (0/21)
-Did not race with team this week

20. Pierce Murphy, Senior, Colorado (0/20)

19. Joe Rosa, Senior, Stanford (0/19)

18. Thomas Awad, Senior, Penn (0/18)
-Did not race with team this week

17. Ernest Kibet, Senior, Louisville (0/17)

16. Edwin Kibichy, Junior, Louisville (0/16)

15. Connor Winter, Senior, Colorado (0/15)

14. Martin Hehir, Senior, Syracuse (0/14)
-Did not race with team this week.

13. Erik Peterson, Senior, Butler (0/13)

12. Matt McClintock, Senior, Perdue (0/12)

11. Jim Rosa, Senior, Stanford (0/11)

10. Mason Ferlic, Senior, Michigan (0/10)
-Did not race with team this week

9. Sean McGorty, Junior, Stanford (0/9)

8. Ammar Moussa, Senior, Colorado (0/8)

7. John Mascari, Senior, Indiana State (0/7)

6. Malachy Schrobilgen, Junior, Wisconsin (0/6)
-Finished with a pack of teammates at the Iona Paddy Doyle M.o.C. Clearly not giving any true effort yet. Watch for that true effort to happen next week or so.

5. Ben Saarel, Junior, Colorado (0/5)

4. Patrick Tiernan, Junior, Villanova (0/4)
-Grabbed a win at the Main Line Invite and convincingly beat second place by 12 seconds. Good sign early on but lets see how he does against the big competition.

3. Anthony Rotich, Senior, UTEP (0/3)
-Finished alongside teammate to place 2nd at Kachina Classic. We wont be seeing him again until the Notre Dame Invite in early October.

2. Futsum Zienasellassie, Senior, Northern Arizona (0/2)

1. Edward Cheserek, Junior, Oregon (0/1)
-Cruised to an easy win with teammates at the Bill Dellinger Invite.

Notes
I wasn't looking into the performances too heavily this week considering many of these meets were tune-up races. Next week will be much more entertaining and involve many more moves in the list.

  1. Fantastic blog, great writing. I'm from out west, so I wouldn't know the course, but Tiernan's time seemed a bit on the slower side?

    1. I don't want to step on Garrett's toes here, but I actually ran on this course a couple times while in college so I can share some insight. I ran the 5 mile, but I assume it's the same set up as the 4 mile race. The course is pretty flat and is a series of loops around Haverford's campus, about a mile in length. I actually think the course tends to run quick in general. However, it's usually not an incredibly top heavy meet, mainly local teams including a few D3 teams. I'm curious how hard he was pushing, given his talent relative to the field.

    2. Thanks for the feedback. Honestly, Jarrett pretty much nailed it. He has run there before so he has a better idea of what's going on there. It may have been slightly slower than usual, but I imagine he was trying to get his legs back into racing shape and get a win under his belt. Thanks for reading!
