Ultimate Fan Challenge: Another Question!

So I think this might be a fun one. Here's the question: rank the etrain staff from fastest to slowest by mile/1600 PR. The staff is the following (alphabetically)

Blake Behney
Sean Collins
Jarrett Felix
Alex Fox
Caleb Gatchell
Evan Hatton
Paul Hayes
Dylan Jaklitsch
Garrett Zatlin

Now here's the catch. Your responses will be graded subjectively. We are looking for answers with some explanation/justification for your choices. Points will be awarded for accuracy, creativity and logic.

Everyone who responds gets at least one point. ClaigxClaig leads with 8 points and Don't Sleep has moved into second place with 2 points after winning the third challenge. Still lots of time for a comeback!

  1. Okay, going from fastest (top) to slowest (bottom), I ranked the etrain writers...

1)Blake Behney- The dude runs for D2 powerhouse Shippensburg University. Gotta love the fact that he has access to great trails and the PIAA Outdoor States track! Also worth noting that Phil Wharton, aka the running guru who has worked with Matt Centrowitz, works with the Ship program as well! No doubt this guy is a stud miler having such great coaching behind him.

2)Jarrett Felix- We can’t forget that etrain was a stud D3 college runner. His mid d speed was off the charts in the unofficial "Centennial Conference Speed Rankings." Legend has it, etrain ran sub 4 after being inspired by Drake's 0-100. No wonder it was the Song of the Year in the etrain Awards last summer.

    3) Garrett Zatlin- Garrett Zatlin always knows what’s good in the NCAA and PA running world. Being an Econ major at VT, Garrett certainly knows his "econ-omy" pace workouts. Those perfectly even splits are his key to success. He’s also got a pretty fast bro so speed must run in the family.

4)Caleb Gatchell- Homeschoolers make some of the best milers! Nuff said.

    5) Evan Hatton- Always wary of those WPIAL guys. Good competition and steep hills out in that neck of the woods. Perhaps more of a distance guy given the 3200m talent from the area, but probably a pretty quick dude in the mile as well.

    6) Alex Fox- A New Yorker! I don’t know what they feed those guys upstate but I don’t like the idea of him being faster than our PA staff. Scary thought, but gotta admit, he must be a good runner if he ran with etrain in college.

    7) Sean Collins- @Collinsean1 knows his PA running stuff! Though, if I remember correctly, he was also a 4x1 state medalist. Not sure if this would hurt his mile capabilities.

    8) Paul Hayes- I’m pretty sure this is the “Cross-Train” guy! Love the work he did on the swimming for runners articles, but anyone that into cross training is taking away from their running miles.

    9) Dylan Jaklitsch- I did not appreciate Dylan sleepin’ on Clayton Murphy in his NCAA predictions last Indoor season. Safe to say he doesn’t know what’s good in the mid d events. Doesn’t bode well for a fast mile time. Jk Dylan, keep writing for the blog!

    1. Very well thought out. Clearly lots of research and fandom on display knowing some good old fashion knowledge of our staff. Only big miss in the accuracy department was for our boy Caleb Gatchell. He's our resident all-american in D2 and our current fastest miler on staff. Me and GZ are also switched. Possibly Sean and Fox as well I don't remember the final verdict on those two. But overall, pretty close.

Overall, I have decided to award you 4 total points for your efforts. I believe this now brings the standings to 6 points for Don't Sleep and 8 points for ClaigxClaig. A comeback is in the making!

      Thanks for playing!
