Warrior XC Classic

This coming Wednesday, November 16th, West Chester Henderson High School will be hosting a 3200 meter race on the track. The race can serve a number of purposes. First, you get the chance to to use the monster base of XC Fitness to run a fast time in one of the signature PA track events. Also, if you are training for the Footlocker Regional Meet or the Nike Cross Northeast Regional Meet, this is an excellent "check point" race to break up those extra weeks of training and see where your fitness is at before the big dance. It comes highly recommended by yours truly.

For those of you that have been around a while, the early news on this race is that it will be the biggest since 2012 when O'Hara and Henderson faced off in a state rematch before they both qualified for nationals at the Nike regional meet (shout out to Sami Aziz of GFS who also punched a ticket to Nats that weekend after winning the 32 at this meet). I've heard that the Affolders and Nate Henderson will be coming from out in District 3 to attend the race as will Independent League state champion Nick Dahl. When we get closer to the meet, we will preview all the action. Stay tuned.

And, as always, stay classy.

    1. Dahl will sit on the leaders shoulder and pull away in the last 300 like he always does.

    2. i can't imagine Dahl getting within 3-5 seconds of Affolder [under best circumstances for Dahl] in this race. hopefully CRN heads to this meet. really interesting results from other meets this weekend in NJ and the New England Championships. Check out the results for Speed Ratings to compare with teams (i'll have a post on this next weekend after the NJ Meet of Champions: http://www.tullyrunners.com/XC2016/Ratings_Nov12.htm#New_England

  4. Remember this race doesn't really mean anything, just a good hard effort to get ready for regionals. Affolder is so strong, can take the win. Henderson head to head easily took care of Dahl at Oakebourne in September.. But Dahl is a proven 3200 guy.

    1. The weather is good, if everyone shows up the real question is how many under 9:00?

    2. I think Affolder and Dahl will definitely dip below 9 but I'm not sure about Henderson. Looking at previous seasons he hasn't had much of a post season, so he might not be accustomed to the continued training/stress.
