Individual
There isn't much difference between the Big 10 and Great Lakes when it comes to the competition. The Great Lakes is essentially the same as the BIG 10 conference sprinkled with a few new names.

Morgan McDonald has been on another level this season and for him to lose this weekend would be a shock. He will be chased by Aaron Baumgarten and teammate Malachy Schrobilgen.

My sleeper picks include Jason Crist, Sherod Hardt, and Matthew Schwartzer. These three typically run very well in the post-season and their experience is a huge advantage in this race. They've shown nothing but improvement all season so expect them to be in the top-pack with McDonald, Baumgarten, and Schrobilgen.

Team
Two weekends ago, we saw Michigan State barely miss the upset over Wisconsin. The Badgers earned the BIG 10 title with 3 fewer points than the Spartans. It was an aggressive race strategy by Michigan State with their top five leading at the mile. If they take a slightly more conservative racing approach this weekend, then the men in green and white could pull off the upset they almost had two weeks ago.

In third and fourth, I see Indiana's low-sticks out pacing Michigan. The Wolverines showed that they were vulnerable at BIG 10's and Hoosier frosh Ben Veatch has been shaving off points over the last few meets.

Both teams should be safe to make NCAA's, but during regionals week you never really know...
